Blog tweaking in progress...

I have been tweaking the blog since a few days. I have been adding a few things, removing a few things and making some small changes here and there. Most of these changes are behind the scenes so you won't notice anything very different. I have also done a few things to make the blog a little leaner so that it load more quickly in your browser.

Some of the changes I am going to talk about are more than a week old and you might have noticed them by now. However I have not blogged about them per se so I will list them anyway...

Major changes include:

  1. Subscribe by Email: You can enter your email address in the little text box that lives somewhere near the top on the right side in this blog. All the stuff that I write in a day will be bundled up in a single mail and mailed to you. You get an email only when I write something so do not worry about your inboxes getting unnecessarily cluttered. This way you need to come to the blog everyday to see if I have posted something new. And of course this is also helpful for those among you who access the Internet from office but can receive email.
  2. Subscribe to Blog feed: If you prefer keeping track of things using a feed aggregator then subscribe to this feed. You do not have to worry about what format it is in because it is a FeedBurner SmartFeed and those things will be taken care of for you.
  3. Subscribe to Comments feed: Many of you will be especially interested in this. Subscribe to the Comments feed for this blog if you are interested in the comments various people are making on this blog. Again it is a SmartFeed so don't worry about formats and stuff... just subscribe to it.

I am still playing around with a lot of stuff, especially the feeds. Those who subscribe to the feed might have noticed that even old entries are sometimes marked as 'unread'. This is because I keep making changes to the feed to make it better. My apologies for the same. The feeds should settle down in a few days. Till then please bear with me.

But what the heck are feeds?

loadaveragezero (nice name, isn't it?) has a nice simple short tutorial on RSS. Go read it... It is definitely worth it.
