Abhishek and I with his new car

My roommate of 9 months is no more... my roommate that is. In a couple of months Abhi will be joining upenn in the U.S of A to pursue his Masters.

Abhishek came to Pune about 11 months ago after completing his training in Trivandrum. I came to Pune after completing my training about 9 months ago. It so happened that he was looking for a roommate (he had already rented the house I am currently living in) and I was hunting for accomodation near my office. We met through a common acquaintance (Soumitra) and we decided to stay together.

He is a nice guy and an excellent roommate. Saurabh (another 1 of my nice ex-roommates though he was in the pre-blog days so no blog post about him), Abhishek and I have had lot of fun together. I already miss Saurabh and I know that I am going to miss Abhishek. The house is not going to be the same without them.

1 disease (or keeda as we would call it in slang) I passed onto Abhishek is the deadly keeda of reading novels. He used to read novels before but not very frequently but once I gave him Angels and Demons he fell for it hook, line and sinker. I am sure he will remember me whenever he starts another novel :-)

Abhishek and I (Saurabh also) have had a number of discussions together, some heated, some intellectual, some trivial and some total crap that dragged on for hours and hours. And I have enjoyed almost all of them. Excellent at bargaining and with a good mind for business I also learnt a lot of stuff from him.

All the best buddy.

P.S : Send me the pics you have in your digicam so that I can post them here.

'Dude', pronounced as 'doood' was/is Abhishek's takiyakalaam.

Is that a coincidence or what? :-)

Hi Varun , abhi
I am back from pre-Blog period !!!

Very rightly said by Varun. It all started with 5 Lokray House.
And we had a real fun time together especially discussing the photograph where Varun gets a Gold medal from Kapil Sibal. ;)
That was one of the best time frame I had in Pune.

Unfortunatly, there doesnt seem to be much desktop applications for solaris, and i wouldnt be surprised by it. To be vey frank, even the netscape navigator sucks big time in CDE, well, better than using lynx though.

firefox for Solaris

Submitted by varun on Mon, 10/10/2005 - 11:21am.

Can't you install firefox for Solaris and then install the StumbleUpon toolbar?

If ffx gets installed cleanly then installing SU should not be an issue.

Disclaimer: Absolutely no experience with Solaris or its environments so I might be missing something very obvious here...

Unfortunatly, the Firefox plugins don't work with Mozilla and solaris being the rigid environment it is, firefox isn't aailaible for solaris.

So, no stumbling in Solaris unfortunatly.

cheers

PS: Unless u get WINE and simulate mozilla on Solaris, tats a long show but don't know if there is WINE support for Solaris.
