The World This Week
My world that is.
It was an interesting week all in all. My 2 week whirlwind tour of Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi ended on Sunday late night and I woke up on Monday morning a quite tired. I dragged myself to work and it was a mild shock coming back to office after a gap of 2 weeks. But it was OK. Workload was manageable, there were no important meetings or deadlines lined up and I gradually got back into office mode.
Tuesday, wednesday slipped by without making much noise. Thursday was different. I was feeling ultralazy on Thrusday... I don't know why. I was feeling as if it was a friday but alas it was not. Thursday afternoon I went to Pizza Hut with office colleagues for Abhishek's so-called treat*. Thursday night Shibu (my newest roommate), Abhi and I went to a nice ice-cream parlour near our house and had double sundaes (or were they triple sundaes). It was after a long time I was having ice-cream and Thursday gets a 10 out of 10 for the culinary highlights :-)
Then my favourite day of the week, friday arrived. I love fridays. You have a whole week lined up and the day passes quite quickly in the anticpation of the weekend. We (Abhi, Hemant and I) went to a nice restaurant called Coffee House on M.G. Road for lunch. Again for Abhishek's so-called treat*. The food was delicious.
Friday evening Abhishek dumped all his luggage in his car and left (permanently) for Mumbai.
Saturday was sleeping day for me. I woke up around 11:00 AM due to a phone call. And all of a sudden I was getting phone calls from everywhere. I also had a couple of calls to make. I barely went through my morning routine and then ordered for lunch (good old chaval dal and dahi). After promptly consuming my lunch I went back to... of course sleep!! Aaaah... The joy of just eating and sleeping and eating and sleeping...
I woke up in the evening. Had some errands to finish and quickly wrapped them up. Shibu and I had dinner at Anand ( :-( ).
I am curently reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. It is on the whole interesting but the author has this annoying habit of repeating the same thing 100 times in a chapter. The book is quite readable apart from this minor glitch. I have not read much and so I don't know whether the advice given in this book makes much sense in the real world. Thanks to Mona for pointing out this book to me (and also endlessly insisting that I read it).
I also cleaned my room (mom will be happy), put all my papers in order (dad will be happy) and bought some stuff for the room that we were running out of.
Sunday was also more or less like Saturday except that after lunch I went to office. I had some personal reading to do and some office work to complete.
Well... that was how the week went by. A nice week all in all. Not much excitement but then I didn't need any. Just good food, lots of sleep and so on.
*so-called treat - Whenever I was asked by Abhishek to come along with him I assumed that it was his treat i.e. in simple words he would be paying. But it was not. But is kadki key zamane mein I spent more than 300 bucks in 2 days :-( yikes !!
Note: In case the title of this post rings a bell and you are unable to understand why, it is the name of the (first?) program by Prannoy Roy that used to come on Friday nights on Doordarshan ages ago.
