New theme. Again.
There. I did it. A new theme. Again. Seems as if I am spending more time tweaking my blog than actually blogging. If you are seeing something very weird then flush your cache and reload the page. In IE and Firefox you can do this by pressing the Shift button and then clicking on the refresh button in the browser's toolbar. Oh.. of course... those you of reading this in a feed reader or an email please pop out of there and check out the blog's brand new avatar.
This new theme is still christened madz. madz is simply too cool a name to lose. So the old theme becomes madz_old and this new theme is ... well madz. This theme is still a work in progress. There are few more things I want to play with but I don't have the time right now so I uploaded whatever I had completed.
Attitude problem
This blog serves many purposes. The most obvious being a place to pen down my thoughts and daily doings. A not-so-obvious purpose is as a testbed and learning ground for my experiments.
The original theme for this blog was designed using an already-existing theme and tweaking a lot of things here and there. The current theme has been designed from the ground up. The old theme used tables for layout and had a very bloated CSS file. The current theme uses semantic XHTML 1.0 Strict and reasonably lean CSS (though I want it to be leaner). For a visitor to this blog the changes are next to invisible. After all how many of my readers view the source in their browser and say 'Aha! So Varun has removed those nasty tables and his CSS statements are really nice'. Hardly anyone.
