Who me?

Born 24 25 years ago in the city of Ahmedabad, I now stay (and work) in Pune, New Delhi Mumbai. I like reading books and tinkering with things. My favourite colour is blue, favourite comic strips are Calvin and Hobbes and Piled Higher and Deeper and favourite poem is Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. I especially love the last stanza. I want to write a book, get a PhD, become a professor, invent a thing or two and become famous. Of course I wouldn't mind having a little (or lot of) fun on the way.

NOTE - I no longer blog here. Everything on this blog except for this line is as it is when I stopped blogging here. I now blog at http://varun.net.in/blog/

Yawn. It's been a long time since I posted but that's mainly because there is nothing much to blog about.

This is why I love Slashdot. Do you have any other site with these kind of comments? I don't think so.

Dapper Drake aa gaya

I finally received my Dapper Drake Ubuntu CDs today! I had diligently kept a track of when shipit.ubuntu.com started accepting requests for Dapper and had put in a request as soon as I knew it was open... yeah yeah I could have downloaded the ISO (and I did) but original Ubuntu CDs are way cooler and anyways I do not have easy access to a burner if office.

My office PC still runs Breezy and I will be shifting to Dapper as soon as I get some time to do the shifting. Of course I could not wait to check out Dapper and I tried out the 'Live' version and what can I say... it was way too cool. A little too much eye candy for my tastes but very very polished.

Realization of the day

I really really have to be more serious about blogging. Really. I mean I keep promoting blogs and how soothing blogging is among my friends and then what do I do? I myself blog something like once in a month.

I do have lots of stuff I want to blog about. I start thinking about my something and at the back of my mind I imagine myself blogging about it... but some time later boom! everything is gone.

No more. Problem is not with intent... problem is with my time management. I really have to set aside half an hour every other day to blog. As simple as that.

It's been a long time since I blogged. As I had mentioned in a comment before it is difficult to blog when you have nothing to blog about. Add to it my laziness and no wonder that I have not blogged properly in a long long time.

Nothing new happening. Work is going on fine with its usual ups and downs, but mostly ups. As usual new assignments pouring in every week so am busy with leanring new things.

Have been feeling very homesick lately and therefore decided to go home this weekend, just for 2 days. I wish it was longer but due to many reasons it has to be short. Have already booked the tickets (going by train since flight tickets are too expensive :-( ) and will be in Ahmedabad for exactly a day and a half.
