Happy Birthday to...
...ME!
At 9:05 AM IST 24 years ago I was born.
I am sure you must be wondering what to gift me. 2 safe things: Books and Chocolates :-)
5, Lokare House: November 2004 till now
5, Lokare House: November 2004 till now
- October 2004 - Abhishek gets very frustrated with his Hadapsar residence and moves into 5, Lokare House.
- November 2004 - Varun arrives in Pune from Trivandrum after training and joins Abhishek.
- December 2004 - Mukesh comes back from onsite (US) and joins Abhishek and Varun.
- January 2005 end - Mukesh moves out to live with some of his friends.
- February 2005 - Saurabh needs a quieter place to live and contemplates moving in with Varun and Abhishek. However somebody scares him by saying that Abhishek is a nice person. Varun has to persuade Saurabh a little and convince him that Abhishek is a nice guy and would make an excellent roommate. Varun (and commonsense) prevails... Saurabh moves in!
- May 2005 end - Saurabh goes back to Delhi.
- July 2005 - Shibu moves in. Shibu is also a typecasted mallu originating from Jabalpur. Most important difference between Shibu and Varun is that Shibu wears a lungi at home and Varun does not.
- July 2005 end - Abhishek leaves TCS and moves out. Flies to the US of A and joins upenn for his MS.
- September 2005 - Kapil from Hyderabad moves in. Kapil has just joined Kanbay, Pune.
- Next who/what/when?
5, Lokare House is where I live. Kapil is the 6th person to move into our house since it became my residence. I am the seniormost tenant in the house :-)
P.S. Abhishek really is a nice person. In fact I have been lucky enough to have only nice roommates (Jigar, Bhavin, James and Vijay). Hope the luck continues...
Bye Abhishek
My roommate of 9 months is no more... my roommate that is. In a couple of months Abhi will be joining upenn in the U.S of A to pursue his Masters.
Abhishek came to Pune about 11 months ago after completing his training in Trivandrum. I came to Pune after completing my training about 9 months ago. It so happened that he was looking for a roommate (he had already rented the house I am currently living in) and I was hunting for accomodation near my office. We met through a common acquaintance (Soumitra) and we decided to stay together.
He is a nice guy and an excellent roommate. Saurabh (another 1 of my nice ex-roommates though he was in the pre-blog days so no blog post about him), Abhishek and I have had lot of fun together. I already miss Saurabh and I know that I am going to miss Abhishek. The house is not going to be the same without them.
1 disease (or keeda as we would call it in slang) I passed onto Abhishek is the deadly keeda of reading novels. He used to read novels before but not very frequently but once I gave him Angels and Demons he fell for it hook, line and sinker. I am sure he will remember me whenever he starts another novel :-)
Abhishek and I (Saurabh also) have had a number of discussions together, some heated, some intellectual, some trivial and some total crap that dragged on for hours and hours. And I have enjoyed almost all of them. Excellent at bargaining and with a good mind for business I also learnt a lot of stuff from him.
All the best buddy.
P.S : Send me the pics you have in your digicam so that I can post them here.
