Submitted by varun on Sun, 03/09/2006 - 4:15am.

Yawn. Saturday morning. Woke up late. 11:45. Did everything at fastforward. Reached Cafe 100 a bit late at 1:20 for the Delhi Bloggers' Meet.

Had a great time. No fixed agenda. Freewheeling discussions. Tatoos to Technorati. Interesting people. Interesting topics. Decent food. Good coffee. No butter chicken as promised.

Happy Friendship Day to all my friends out there!

Submitted by varun on Sun, 06/08/2006 - 6:23pm.

If I were a poet I would have penned a poem.
If I were good at articulation I would have written something more meaningful.
If I had tons of money and time I would have visited you.

But I am none of the above. So I will just shout a very Happy Friendship Day to all my friends out there. I am very lucky to have tons of friends from different phases in life scattered around the globe who have each given me different things and still continue to do so.

By friends I also mean my parents, grandparents, brother and other relatives with whom I am close... after all these are one of my earliest and best friends.

Life indeed wouldn't be even half the fun it is now if I didn't have you guys. Thanks.

Even though its not Christmas I do feel a little like Calvin.

Something fishy about the DoT ban

Submitted by varun on Thu, 20/07/2006 - 1:40am.

The order to blacklist certain sites, issued by DoT to all ISPs in India is now old news. I don't have anything original to add to the issue... everything that should be said has been said.

I was in Chennai for a couple of days on an official trip and did not know something like this was happening... the first inkling I got of something of both sad and funny was when waiting to board the plane at Chennai.

Needless to say the Government or CERT-IN or DoT or whichever body has initiated this is totally inept and clueless about blogs and the Internet. It scares me to think that these are the morons with powers to influence the Internet and take policy decisions about it in India. Funnily even the so called technology correspondents who wrote about this on various news sites seemed ignorant about the terminology and the technology behind blogs.
