Hi Dad. Many many happy returns of the day. I know you will read this post sooner or later :-)

Well... Dad was 1 of the earliest readers of this blog... back in those days where probably the only other person reading it was me :-)

Many many Happy returns of the day to Dhaval too who shares his birthday with my Dad. October is a very happening month as far as birthdays go. Many from my school gang have their birthdays in October. Belated Happy Birthday to Ruchir too... Have a nice day and a great year guys!

Dad was with me for a few days. He had come to Mumbai to see off Vineet and he came to Pune with me after Vineet had gone. It was nice having him here. Though initially I was a bit worried because there is hardly any furniture or other amenities of civilization in my room. Just a mattress, a table, chair and my computer. But most of my fears were quite unfounded since he coped admirably. Seems like his own bachelorhood gave him skills and instincts that helped him live in my room :-)

Most of the time we stayed at my room and talked. We made our own breakfast in the mornings and even though it was a bit amateurish it was fun. Lunches and dinners we had outside. We tried out different dishes at different restaurants. On Tuesday we went to watch the movie Stealth. Its been ages since Dad and I saw a movie together in a theater. I think the last movie was Hum Apke Hai Kaun around 8-9 years ago. The only downside in his trip was that his return journey took much longer than expected. The rail route between Pune and Mumbai is still not back to normal and his train was rerouted via a very very long route. A journey that usually takes 13 hours actually took 27-28 hours.
