Google Blog Search
The inevitable just happened. Google just released a search targeted specifically at the blogosphere. Titled blogsearch (what else?) at first glance it looks like a typical Google offering with a clean minimal interface. Till now I have not found anything exceptional but all the expected features are there. Just key in what you are looking for and it displays the results related to that query.

Hurricane Katrina resources by Google
Google has put together a page that can be used to search for people affected by Hurricane Katrina. This page also has many links to various organizations and local resources involved in post-Katrina rescue and rehabilitation activities.
Eager to try out Google Talk
I am a regular reader of many technical blogs, sites and forums. However the launch of Google Talk came as a big surprise to me. Sure there was some buzz about it in many of the forums but I seem to have missed most of it (maybe I should review the list of sites I subscribe to). The launch of their own IM service was nothing short of a shock for me.
Any new service launched by Google is big news. They have a knack of doing things differently and one thing that all people expect from Google is innovation. They are more friendly, both towards end users as well as developers.
