Yawn. It's been a long time since I posted but that's mainly because there is nothing much to blog about.

Home Sweet Home

Life and work have been pretty much OK over the last 10 days or so. Last to last week I had gone home for the weekend. Travelling to and fro Ahmedabad by train in sleeper class was a major PITA but it was worth the 1.5 days I got to spend at home. Guess what... I actually spent more time travelling than being actually in Ahmedabad. It is a big struggle convincing yourself to travel by train once you have travelled by plane a few times... a big struggle till you see the ticket fares for airlines :-)

What did I do at home? Hmmmm... lemme see. Eat (lots and lots of keri no ras), talk with family and friends and sleep. Nice no... It partially cured my transient homesickness to some extent and was a nice break from daily routine at Delhi.

Ghar grahasti

I also met Sahil and Namrata when I was there. It was a lucky coincidence that I reached Ahmedabad the same day he was leaving... I would have felt very bad if I were not able to meet him. Seems like he delayed his trip by a day so that he could meet me even if that was only for a few hours. It was a different experience altogether seeing him and Namrata do some major shopping for their new home... it is kinda difficult to picture the Sahil I know doing such things... but kudos to the guy since he seemed to be handling the whole affair quite well :-) I guess all of us have to pick up these basic survival skills sooner or later. I also briefly met Mona and again we ended up discussing about marriages and relationships and what not... is it just me or is everybody around me concerned about the same stuff? Baaah... who cares.

Feeds Massacre

I was also responsible for a major massacre day before yesterday. Massacre of the feeds in my feed reader that is. I was subscribed to 217 feeds till a few days back and that was causing a major information overload. There were many personal blogs in there and blogs about topics that are interesting but not necessarily very relevant to me. The overload finally got to me and I deleted all the feeds that were not relevant to me, of course there were a few exceptions. Major causalities were personal blogs, all of whom I deleted except for my friends' blogs and humorous blogs. I will just keep track of trawler sites such as Desipundit and read just those blog entries that get featured there. Feed count as of now is a much more manageable 154 and even that is after I added many more relevant feeds.

Moderation for comments?

Since a few weeks this blog has been receiving many spam comments. Around 2-3 every day. It also gets around 10-20 spam trackbacks every day but these don't show up since moderation for trackbacks is enabled. I was wondering if I should enable moderation for comments too.

Aaram Time

I have been having a relatively relaxed week at office since a week or so. The lighter workload means I can catch up on my reading and that's what I am doing nowadays. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that I get a few more days free. The weather in Delhi has been especially terrible since a few days. Not hot... very very hot. Add to that dry winds and you have the kind of weather that bugs you like hell.

Chalo that's all for now. See you all again in a few days. Hopefully.

Tera number bhi aayega

It was really good to have met you in Ahm yaar. Waiting for you to get into all this now. You wouldnt beleive but out of 3 weeks I was there atleast 2 were spent in shopping.

The way I see it is that it wouldnt be fair to leave all shopping to Nams as she has to go everywhere alone or depend of some friend to accompany her.

And as it is it would be our home and she doing all the work for making it one doesnt seem right to me. And we both being in a long distance relationship have not spent a lot of time together yet.

Before marriage we had spent about 2 months at max with each other and after marriage a bit less than 2 months together.

So being together and going out is still such a new experience. We get to know small small things about each other as in what tastes and preferences we have.

Other than that have started my new job. Seems pretty good. Still havent done any work. Waiting on creation of my logins and getting necessary access (the usual corporate red tape).

Pata hai ki mera number bhi aayega

And that's when I can benefit from your experience.

Shopping is actually a nice experience. You got to see a totally different side of the person you are shopping with :-)
