Just another update
Aah. It’s my favourite day of the week again. Two days of waking up late, going to sleep late and just chilling out.
The past week has been very relaxing. We have got the air cooler repaired and have also successfully commissioned a matka (earthen pot). The air cooler does not cool the room, it is not that powerful, it just makes sure that the rooms don't get too hot, but in this terrible terrible heat even that does wonders.
The dinner problem still persists but I tried out a meal from a tiffin service yesterday and it was pretty good so maybe that will become my permanent source of dinner. I was on a fruit-centric diet for the past many days because now I am so bored with restaurant food that I just find it unpalatable. But now I am getting bored of fruits too... next what?
Everything is going on fine at work. A client gave positive feedback on a project we executed for them some time back so I am happy. That was my first major project in my current group and that too an activity I am not too familiar with so the feedback is really a morale booster. The past few days have been relatively light and I have been reviewing and tweaking lots of proposals. I am happy that our group is getting so much business but in my heart of hearts I also hope that all our proposals do not succeed because that would mean tons of work for many many weeks ;-) Hope my boss is not reading this. I am finally getting the hang of things as far as proposals go and can attack an RFP with confidence. One of my current assignments involves working with a development team based out of China so I am also being exposed to conference calls, working across time zones etc. All in all a very nice experience.
Many of my girl-friends (note the very important hyphen in there) are also having an interesting time in their own ways. Madhuri delivered an interesting talk/presentation to all her account colleagues last week and she did quite well. She worked very hard for it and the efforts eventually paid off. Sobha should have probably quit her job by now, have gone to Pune, will then go to Kerala and will then fly to Brussels with Jipson. Namrata's (bhabhi) final year exams are over and she cannot believe that her undergrad studies are over. Last time I called her she was bubbling so much with happiness that I had to calm her down a little by reminding that the results are not yet out :-) Nidhi, a friend from training days, got married last week. I had been to her wedding but like all north Indian weddings the baraat and everything else was very late and I could not stay late into the night so I had leave even before I saw Nidhi. I did catch a glimpse of her husband though.
Something very interesting is Suman's and Pallavi's lives too but I am not supposed to talk about it so no blogging on those topics. I want to wish both of them the very best in their respective endeavours.
Meanwhile I have to catch up on my reading (isn't that what I say every weekend?), a few errands to run around the house, a Delhi Bloggers' Meet to attend and a tag to pick up. Chalo that's all for now. See you soon.
