I was in Ahmedabad almost the whole of last week and I was unable to blog because I was too lazy to go to the cybercafe. The one time I did drag myself to the cybercafe I was busy checking emails and replying to them to blog about anything. But now my mini-vacation is finally over and am back to work.

Pride and Prejudice

I finally managed to finish reading P&P. And guess what? I actually liked it. Even though I found it boring initially the end is quite interesting. It is also somewhat different from the ending of the movie Bride and Prejudice. And the trick to comprehending the old style long-winded prose is to read it at a certain high pace and not try to comprehend the smaller phrases by themselves. Speed-reading an entire sentence or paragraph makes it much more easy to understand. And I simply ignored the occasional word or two that I didn't understand.

Grandma's operation

Grandmother's operation for removing the cataract in her left eye went off without much of a hitch. The doctor did face some problems because Grandma is sensitive to the commonly used medicines and because her cataract was thicker than usual but no major complications as such. We saw the entire operation live on TV and I could not help being amazed at how cataract removal operations are done. Grandma is alright now except that she is feeling a bit weak due to the heavy dose of post-operation medicines and diabetes medicines. In a few days time we will know how well she is able to see.

Utran

I celebrated Utran with my friends as usual. This time I was with friends from my B.C.A days. We all got together at Hitesh's place. For a change there was a decent breeze almost throughout the day and I did fly a few kites though not as many as I usually do. But best part was meeting all the friends and getting updated to the latest news and gossip. Coke and Pizza was ordered from Domino's (Gaurav's treat I think) and we all gorged as if we had just come from a famine-stricken place. And all this was after I had lot of jalebis at my own house for breakfast.

Best part was playing with Hiren's year old daughter nicknamed Baboo. She is just too cute (unlike Hiren) and quite intelligent (again unlike H... well no comments) I wish I had my camera with me. She is literally a bundle of energy with a strong affinity for puppies, pickwick biscuits and cellphones.

New Assignment

I have been working on a new assignment since morning. The topic is top secret so I am not going to tell you anything about it. The domain is one that interests me very much but with which I have been out of touch since sometime so I am enjoying the whole thing. I am actually looking forward to the late nights and long hours at work.

Thats all for now. See you soon.
