Happy New 2006!

Had a ball of a time on New Year's partying with friends and friends of friends at Taj's Insomnia in Mumbai. Danced a lot, ate a lot, drank a little and remained awake till wee hours of the morning. Then caught a train back to Pune early morning on Sunday and slept for around 18 hours straight.

Day before yesterday Vivek (my neighbour and friend) treated us to an awesome dinner at a nice place called Sarangi on East Street. It was his birthday... Happy birthday Vivek! Tried out Screwdriver for the first time and liked it. Also broke my (more than a year old) non-veg fast and feasted on fish tikka, chicken tikka and chilly chicken! Definitely a nice start to the new year!

Things are going on as usual... whatever that means. Two major changes in my plans for January. I am not going for Sobha's wedding :-( Grandma has an cataract removal operation scheduled for next week and I will be going home to be with her. She had had an operation for removing the cataract in the other eye more than an year ago and at that time there were a number of complications. I sure hope there are none this time. Had to cancel my Kerala trip because taking off for many days in consecutive weeks is not an option. I was eagerly looking forward to Sobhs wedding... I even thought of flying in and flying out to cut down on the number of leaves I will have to take but I simply cannot afford the tickets.

My best wishes to Sobha and Jipson, may all your wishes and hopes come true and may you move closer to your dreams in the coming months and years. I will definitely drop in to meet you guys when you are in Pune or Mumbai.

There is also something in the pipeline on the professional front. Things might come through or they might not so I will not reveal what it is till it finally happens. But I am desperately hoping that things turn out as I want them too.
